Development (DevOps) and Customer Operations Senior Engineer for Quantum Networking

Posted on: 2 juli 2024

Job Description

We are looking for a new senior software engineer for our quantum networking device engineering team. You will be responsible for the operations behind our development pipeline (DevOps) and our release and deployment procedure (customer operations) of new products and new software versions.  Think of deploying product updates and identifying and troubleshooting production issues. You will also help with our IT infrastructure (think build servers), system testing (think infra for CI tests) and help customers use our systems.

You will be working closely with our software, firmware and digital design development team, helping to improve the development and release processes and improve ways of working in the future.

You are passionate about advancing quantum and networking technologies and want to contribute to ground-breaking tech. Familiarity with quantum is not required (we teach you that). You can work independently, are a pro-active, hands-on person, and can easily adapt to rapidly changing priorities. You need to be self-sufficient, work without relying on a big team and be comfortable with start-up environment. Above all, you’re a team player, and excited to work in a mixed team of hardware engineers, software engineers, and scientists.

Main objectives and responsibilities:

  • Building and implementing new development tools and infrastructure.
  • Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes.
  • Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.
  • Deploy updates and fixes, and provide technical support.

Your Profile

You are someone with:

  • Work experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role.
  • Proficiency with Git and GitHub workflows, CI/CD pipelines and development and IT infrastructure.
  • Experience with product and software deployments, and deployment of software fixes.
  • Experience with some of the core technologies used: Docker, Linux and Linux administration, BitBucket, Jira.
  • A degree in computer science, engineering, or a comparable discipline.
  • Eligible to work in the EU.

Other preferred skills and qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and experience with computer hardware.
  • Experience with networking and network devices.

We expect that the successful applicant will not satisfy all the above points, but has expertise in key areas and significant knowledge in most areas.
